How to book a flight

What?

Whatever you can think of, that is legal and reasonably safe to do! If you're not sure, you can always ask.

When?

Whenever you like! I will need a few days of notice. If the weather ends up being unsafe or simply unpleasant, we will reschedule, at no cost of your own.

Where from?

Where to/above?

See where.above.sk, but in general anywhere in Slovakia! A few exceptions due to military airspace around Malacky, Banska Bystrica, and Presov.

Outside of Slovakia is also possible, but more complicated, we need to file a flight plan which gives us less freedom, and there's different laws to keep up with.

What do I need?

A basic form of ID for airport security, everything else is up to you. I always recommend sunglasses, and dress as if you were driving on a highway with a window down, the temperatures/winds are not dissimilar. There is limited space, so consider wearing something that doesn't limit your movement too much.

Who can fly?

Any age/background/size, the only requirements are that you (and your equipment/clothing) are less than 100kg, show up completely sober, and are able to take basic instructions of the "don't touch that button" kind. Knowledge of English is not strictly necessary, but my Slovak is limited.

How many people?

What are the prices/how do I pay?

The transfer occurs as soon as practical after the flight, once we know the actual flight time. Asking me to fly doesn't bind you to cover the costs until after the flight. If we don't fly because of weather or any other reason, there is also no obligation on your side. Cash on the day is preferred.

You only pay the hourly rate for the time the plane is not touching the ground: pre-flight is free. The hourly rate is to the nearest minute.

Do you have more pictures?

As many as you like! See photos.above.sk, with photos exclusively from flights piloted by our captain.

Who are you?

This is a 1-person non-commercial operation, I'm the Private Pilot in charge of the aircraft and your safety: officially, legally, and colloquially, the captain, it's not a marketing gimmick. I'm also a human being: I work as a software engineer and I take care of my wonderful husky. matei.above.sk
