We'll be visiting 30+ key locations above Bratislava, you can see each of them in the interactive map above.
The first few minutes after take off from Bratislava Airport are spent heading South to Šamorín, a small town over the Danube, so you can get acquainted with the aircraft, views, and ask any question, as it will be pretty busy over the city. If it's safe, you may also be allowed to control the aircraft for a short period.
After Šamorín we can deviate from the flight plan at any time, if you see something you're interested in, point at it and we'll have a closer look!
Once you're all settled in, we make our way North over the Danube, stopping at a few key locations such as Danubiana Gallery and Rusovce Castle, to get you acquainted with the basic maneuver you'll experience throughout the flight: circling. This maneuver allows you to see the point of interest from all angles, and the turning naturally lowers the wing on your side for better visibility.
Not long after, we'll be entering Bratislava from Petrzalka, where we can see the scars of communist expansion, healing thanks to the unrelenting love of the locals. Some key locations here are the horse racing track, train station, and a lake popular for bbq and swimming.
We then head across the Danube for our first dip into the city center, packed with several interesting locations such as the UFO bridge, Bratislava Castle, the Presidential Palace, Radio Tower (an upside down pyramid), St. Martin's Cathedral, Eurovea & Nivy shopping centers, and Slavin monument.
To take a breath from all the breath-taking 360s (circling maneuvers), we'll follow the Danube North-West towards Karlova Ves where we can visit the Komenius University campus, witness more organic communist architecture, and fly over the best place for a picnic. Once past the active quarry on the hillside of the Small Carpathians, we continue upstream to the locally famous Devin Castle.
We now start heading back to the city center, but without first passing by the abandoned rocket launching station of Devinska Kobyla, the charming suburb of Dubravka, and the landmark visible from anywhere in the city: Kamzik TV Tower.
On our second and last pass through the city center we're going to see new monuments and can revisit old ones, until we head North-East to Zlate Piesky, a common destination for water sports lovers in the city, at which point we can start our short descent to land back in M.R. Štefánik Airport (Bratislava International Airport)
